Maria Teresa "Tess" Rains Founder & Owner Boss Me Up Services LLC

Maria Teresa Rains, better known as Tess, is a mom, serial entrepreneur, multi-skilled professional, community servant, and the woman behind Boss Me Up Services LLC.

Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, Tess spent years in the corporate world serving in roles including Project Manager, Solution Consultant, and Lead Senior Omnichannel Architect. Her professional background gave her extensive experience working with technology, customer experience, business processes, project delivery, system solutions, and organizational transformation.

But Tess discovered that her greatest passion wasn't simply implementing technology — it was helping people and businesses succeed. That passion became the foundation of Boss Me Up Services.

Tess has a natural ability to look at a business from both sides: what customers see on the front end, and what needs to happen behind the scenes to make everything work. She helps businesses strengthen their brands while creating better systems, automation, workflows, and processes to support their growth. Her passion for helping businesses level up their brand while streamlining their front-facing and back-end processes can be seen in every successful project she delivers.

More than a transaction

One thing that makes working with Tess different is her approach. She is not a transactional person. Every project is approached differently because every client's needs, goals, personality, and business are different. Tess believes in building relationships — not simply completing a project, sending an invoice, and moving on to the next client.

Working with Tess often feels like gaining a trusted business friend and resource — someone you can reach out to, bounce ideas off of, ask questions, and consult with as your business continues to evolve. It isn't simply an 8:00-to-5:00 transaction.

When Tess takes on a project, she becomes invested in seeing it succeed. She brings together her corporate experience, entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, technical knowledge, and genuine desire to help others succeed.

For TessBoss Me Up isn't just the name of a company. It's what she wants to help every client do.

Build it. Brand it. Automate it. Boss it up.

Service one · fingerprinting

Live Scan,
FBI channeling,
print to card.

The agency, employer or licensing board asking for your background check decides which one you need. Confirm it with them, bring their paperwork, and you're usually out in fifteen minutes.

About 15 minutes Approved FBI channeler Walk-ins on Eastern Ave

The three services

Their rules decide
which one you get.

We can't choose for you, and the wrong type means starting over. Ask them before you book.

Electronic · we submit it

Live Scan

Your fingerprints are captured digitally on a scanner instead of with ink, then submitted electronically to the appropriate agency for your background check where electronic submission is authorized.

Commonly used for

  • Employment background checks
  • Professional or occupational licensing
  • Gaming-related licensing or employment
  • Insurance licensing
  • Education and school-related requirements
  • Other Nevada agencies and authorized organizations

What to bring

  • Valid, unexpired government photo ID — driver's license, state ID or passport
  • The fingerprint or background-check form the requesting agency gave you
  • Any ORI, OCA, account number or agency identifier they provided
  • Payment for your appointment

Bring the paperworkWe cannot determine or guess which agency information belongs on your submission. Without it, the prints have nowhere to go.

Electronic · your own FBI record

FBI channeling

Used to request an FBI Identity History Summary — sometimes called an FBI background check or "rap sheet." An authorized FBI channeler submits your fingerprints and applicant information to the FBI electronically for processing.

Commonly used for

  • Personal FBI background checks
  • Reviewing your own FBI record
  • Certain employment or business purposes
  • International or document-related purposes that require an Identity History Summary

What to bring

  • Valid, unexpired government photo ID
  • Any documents or instructions explaining why you need the FBI background check
  • The personal information required for the FBI submission
  • Payment for your appointment

Not the same as Live ScanFBI channeling is separate from a Nevada state Live Scan background check. Some purposes — particularly certain immigration and government processes — have specific rules about how the FBI record must be obtained. Check with them first.

Physical card · you carry it out

Print to card

Your fingerprints are captured and printed onto an approved physical card, usually an FD-258, instead of being submitted electronically by our office. You leave with the completed card and send it in yourself, following the requesting organization's instructions.

Commonly used for

  • Out-of-state licensing
  • Out-of-state employment
  • Federal applications
  • Professional licensing boards
  • Agencies that require a physical fingerprint card
  • Organizations that don't accept Nevada electronic Live Scan submissions

What to bring

  • Valid, unexpired government photo ID
  • The fingerprint card they supplied, if they gave you one
  • Instructions or paperwork from the requesting agency
  • ORI, agency information or other required codes, if applicable
  • Payment for your appointment

Bring their cardIf an organization gave you a specific fingerprint card, bring it. Some agencies require their own preprinted stock or specific information printed on the card.

Not sure which one you need?

Call the employer, licensing board, government agency or organization asking for your prints and ask which of these three they require. Bring every form, email, instruction sheet, fingerprint card and ORI/OCA code they gave you.

Print quality

If your prints
are rejected

It happens, and it is almost never something you did wrong. The agency receiving the prints decides whether the ridge detail is readable enough to search — that call is made after submission, not in our chair.

Why it happens

Ridge detail wears down. Age, years of manual or chemical work, certain medications and medical treatments, very dry or very moist skin, scarring and healing cuts all flatten the pattern the scanner is reading. The equipment captures what is on your fingertip that day — a rejection is a comment on the ridges, not on you or your record.

You'll get a rejection notice

It goes to you or to the requesting agency, typically within a few weeks of submission. Read it closely: it names the reason for the rejection and whether a resubmission is allowed.

Contact the requesting agency first

Before you rebook, ask them whether they want you to reprint, and whether your original form, ORI or transaction number can be reused. Their answer decides what we do at the second appointment.

Come back for a reprint

Bring the rejection notice and your original paperwork. We'll take a fresh set using different pressure, technique and moisture correction. Reprints for a quality rejection are handled at no additional service charge from our office within 90 days of the original appointment.

If it's rejected a second time

Many agencies allow a name-based check after two quality rejections. That decision belongs to them — ask them to open one, and we'll provide documentation of both attempts if they need it.

Agency and FBI processing fees are collected at the time of submission and are generally not refundable on a quality rejection — the receiving agency keeps them for the attempted search. A resubmission may carry a new agency fee, set by them, not by us.

Before your appointment

Give your ridges the best chance

A few small things measurably improve print quality, especially if you work with your hands.

  • Moisturize your hands nightly for three or four days before — then skip lotion the morning of.
  • No sanitizer, solvents or heavy scrubbing for 24 hours before your appointment.
  • Rest your hands. Avoid sanding, gardening, lifting bars and rough tools the day before if you can.
  • Let cuts heal. Reschedule if a fingertip is bandaged, blistered or peeling.
  • Warm hands print better. Cold fingers come out faint — warm them up before you sit down.
  • Tell your technician about anything relevant — a trade, chemotherapy, dialysis, a skin condition — so they can adjust pressure and technique from the start.

Book your appointment

Pick a time,
bring your paperwork.

Most fingerprinting appointments take about fifteen minutes. Walk-ins are welcome at the Eastern Ave office, but booked times go first.

Nothing on the calendar works?

Send us an appointment request with the times that suit you and the type of fingerprinting you were told to get. We'll answer the same day.

Open the booking calendar

Before you arriveBring a valid unexpired photo ID, every form, email, card and ORI/OCA code the requesting organization gave you, and payment. Arrive five minutes early so we can check the paperwork before your slot starts.

Service two · notary

Signed, sealed,
and done.

A Nevada notary at the desk when you need a stamp today, and online notarization by video when driving across town isn't the plan. Same signature, same legal weight, no printing.

In office or on video Usually under 15 minutes Evening slots by request

Two ways to sign

Come in, or
stay where you are.

Both produce a properly notarized document. Pick whichever fits the day — and check that the receiving party accepts electronic notarization before you choose online.

In office · Las Vegas

At the desk

You bring the document and your ID, we verify who you are, watch you sign where the law requires it, complete the notarial certificate, and stamp it. Most appointments are done in ten minutes.

How it goes

  • We check your ID against the name on the document
  • You tell us which notarial act the document calls for
  • You sign — in front of us when the certificate requires it
  • We complete the certificate, seal it, and enter it in the journal

Multiple signersEveryone signing has to be present with their own valid ID. If your document needs witnesses, please arrange to bring them.

Online · by video

Online notarization

Done over a live audio-video session where Nevada law permits it. You upload the document, confirm your identity on camera, sign electronically, and get the notarized file back the same session — no printing, no scanner, no drive.

You'll need

  • A device with a working camera and microphone
  • A stable internet connection and a quiet few minutes
  • Your unexpired government photo ID for on-screen verification
  • The document as a file, not a photo of a page

Check acceptance firstSome counties, lenders and agencies still require a wet signature and physical seal. Confirm the receiving party accepts an electronically notarized document before booking online.

Not sure which notarial act you need?

The document usually tells us — it's the block of pre-printed wording near the signature line. If that block is blank or missing, ask the party who gave you the document which act they require. A notary can't choose it for you, and picking wrong can invalidate the signature.

AcknowledgmentJuratCopy certification
Call us: 775-699-8293

Before your appointment

Bring these
four things

Nine out of ten notary appointments that go sideways go sideways for one of these reasons. Five minutes of checking saves the trip.

A valid, unexpired photo ID

Government-issued, with your photo and signature — driver's license, state ID, passport or military ID. The name on it has to match the name on the document. If you've changed your name, bring ID in the new name, not just the paperwork explaining the change.

The complete document

Every page, with no blank spaces left to fill in later. We can't notarize a document with gaps in it, and we can't notarize a page that's been separated from the rest.

An unsigned signature line — usually

If the document calls for a jurat, you have to sign in front of the notary, so leave it blank. If it calls for an acknowledgment, a signature already on the page is fine as long as you appear in person and acknowledge it as yours.

Everyone who has to sign

Each signer appears in person with their own ID — there is no signing on someone else's behalf without proper authority documented. If the document requires witnesses, please bring them; we can't guarantee witnesses on site.

Documents we see most

If it needs a stamp, bring it

  • Affidavits and sworn statements
  • Powers of attorney
  • Deeds, title transfers and real-estate paperwork
  • Loan, refinance and lender packages
  • Trust, estate and beneficiary documents
  • Parental consent and minor travel letters
  • Vehicle title and bill-of-sale documents
  • Business filings, corporate resolutions and vendor forms
  • Copy certifications, where Nevada law permits them

Don't see yours? It probably still qualifies. Send a photo of the notarial certificate block and we'll tell you before you drive over.

What a notary can and can't do

The line, plainly.

Knowing this in advance keeps your appointment short and your document valid.

We can

Verify and witness

  • Confirm your identity against a valid government photo ID
  • Administer an oath or affirmation
  • Watch you sign and complete the notarial certificate
  • Apply the seal and record the act in our journal
  • Certify a copy of a document, where Nevada law allows it
  • Notarize documents written in English for signers who understand them
We can't

Advise or decide

  • Give legal advice or explain what a document means for you
  • Choose which notarial act your document needs
  • Draft, complete or correct the content of your document
  • Notarize for anyone who isn't present, in person or on video
  • Notarize when the ID is expired, or the names don't match
  • Notarize when a signer seems unsure, pressured or unable to understand what they're signing

FeesNotarial fees are charged per notarial act within the maximums set by Nevada law. Online notarization, mobile appointments and after-hours requests are quoted separately. Ask when you book and you'll have the number before you arrive.

Service three · digital & branding

Looks right.
Runs itself.

Websites, CRM automation, branding and business consulting — built in house, launched, and maintained after.

Built on GoHighLevel Maintained after launch You own everything

Selected work

Built, launched,
and still running.

Nonprofits, real estate teams, financial services and small businesses across the Las Vegas valley — and clients well outside it.

How a build goes

Four steps,
no mystery

You'll know what's happening at every stage, and you'll own everything when it's done.

1 · The conversation

What you sell, who you sell it to, and what currently happens when someone tries to buy. Usually thirty minutes, and it changes the build more than anything else.

2 · The plan

Scope, page list, what gets automated, what you'll need to supply, and the number. In writing, before anything is built.

3 · The build

Design and copy first, then the CRM, calendars, forms and automations behind it. You review in stages, not once at the end.

4 · Launch and after

We connect the domain, test every form and sequence, and walk you through the back end. Ongoing maintenance is available if you'd rather not touch it.

What you ownYour domain, your content, your client list, your account. We build inside your own GoHighLevel sub-account wherever possible so nothing is hostage to us.

Every one of these started with a conversation

Tell us what you sell, who you sell it to, and what happens now when someone tries to buy. We will tell you what it takes to fix it.

Financial literacy · community

Learn the money
side of the business.

Plain-language financial education for small business owners, families and anyone who was never taught this in school. No jargon, no sales pitch, no assumption that you already know what a P&L is.

Workshops & one-on-one Small business & personal Las Vegas and online

What we cover

The things
nobody
explained

Every session starts where you actually are. Bring your questions — the awkward ones are usually the ones everyone else in the room also has.

How credit actually works

What a score is built from, which moves matter and which are myths, how to read your own report, and what to do about something on it that isn't yours.

Budgeting and cash flow

Where the money goes, what to set aside, and how to build a month you can actually stick to — for the household and for the business.

Business banking and bookkeeping

Separating personal from business, what records to keep, and what your bookkeeper or tax preparer needs from you so filing isn't a scramble in April.

Taxes, plainly

What to put aside as you earn, what counts as a deduction, quarterly estimates, and what changes when you form an LLC.

Building business credit

Setting the business up so it can borrow on its own record instead of yours — EIN, entity, vendor accounts and the order to do them in.

Protecting what you've built

Identity protection, safe record keeping, and spotting the offers that target small business owners and new entrepreneurs.

How to join

Three ways in.

Come to a session, work through it at your own pace, or sit down with us one-on-one.

In person & online

Workshops

Group sessions for community organizations, churches, nonprofits and small business groups. We bring the material; you bring the room and the questions.

Good for

  • Community and member organizations
  • Teams and staff development days
  • New entrepreneurs starting out together

Hosting a group?Tell us the audience and roughly how many people, and we'll shape the session around them.

At your own pace

Online course

The same material as modules you can work through whenever you have an hour — with worksheets, progress tracking and the ability to go back over anything twice.

Good for

  • People who can't make a weeknight session
  • Anyone who wants to revisit the material later
  • Teams onboarding at different times

Coming soonAsk to be told when enrollment opens.

One-on-one

Sit down with us

Your numbers, your situation, in private. We'll walk through where things stand and what the next three moves are — and tell you plainly when you need a professional instead of a workshop.

Good for

  • Getting a business's books in order
  • Preparing before you apply for funding
  • Working out which specialist you actually need

Not licensed adviceThis is education, not financial, tax or legal advice. When you need a licensed professional, we'll point you to one.

Ready to join a session?
